In August, Denver Gray, a very special mentor of mine passed away. Denver was a father figure to me for more than a decade. He was a high-ranking Judo black belt among other things like firefighter, log-cabin builder, axe-thrower, and all around most interesting man-in-the-world. Here he is being remembered by his students, Yudansha and family in a modest but very heartfelt ceremony before Judo practice is resumed. His spirit both inspired the practice and hung heavy in the air.
